About the event
Come and join us for our bi-annual Community Missions Day!
We are looking for volunteers as well as individuals in the community we could help. If you would like to serve or know someone who needs service, please contact Jim Ryan at (830) 990-2916 or our church office at (830) 997-7679.
We especially want all of our senior citizens to look for ways we could help you or a neighbor you know.
Types of service projects are listed below ranging from mowing/yard-work to light repairs and even carpentry.
About:
The Missions Committee first sponsored a Mission Day in 2011, and our church is proud to host two Community Missions Day each year since then. Some of the jobs we have completed over the years include:
1. Paint a house – This was our first project and it took several days to finish. Some jobs are too big for a single day’s work, but painting a room or two is certainly possible.
2. Lay wood flooring in two rooms of a home.
3. Repair and paint a wood fence.
4. Cut down dead trees.
5. Build a deck for a home.
6. Clean a lot for Habitat for Humanities.
7. Build new doors for a storage building, clean walls, and repair gutters at the Good Samaritan Center.
8. Demolish and remove an old unsafe addition to a home.
9. Yard clean up and mowing.
10. Install a window a/c.
11. Minor repairs of homes, both carpentry and electrical.
